What is Spiritual Mapping?
Spiritual Mapping, also known as “Informed Intercession”. It is a tool for effective intercession for cities and regions. Through research and prophetic insight a “spiritual map“ of the city/location/place is drawn.
Why Spiritual Mapping? What is the use of it?
The purpose of spiritual mapping is
a) to bring strategic information for effective and accurate, timely intercession so that we can cooperate with God’s plans and times for a city instead of just releasing random prayers. Spiritual Mapping will lead to effective, on-spot intercession for a village, district, city or region.
b) another effect of the research done in Spiritual Mapping is, that it helps us to get to know the village or city better, and as we get to know it more, our authority to pray for that place increases. Why? Because our authority in the kingdom of God increases in accordance with the measure of love that we have. When you love something very much, you have much authority to pray for it. So your authority in prayer increases with your love and your love increases with acquaintance. In short: You can only pray effectively for something that you love and you can only love what you know! Isn’t that right?! And that is where Spiritual Mapping comes in – it helps you get to know – love – and pray effectively for your village or city.
Now what exactly do you do in Spiritual Mapping?
1) You gather information! Lots and lots of information. And where do you get this information? For example in books about the city, historical research, museums, tourist information or nowadays you find lots of information on the Internet! Another source of information about the present state of the city is the newspaper and of course the people living in the city! They can often give very valuable information about their place and its history and present condition.
2) As you gather the information, you prayerfully ask God for revelation and prophetic insight! You constantly ask „What is important?!“
In the whole process of gathering information and praying for revelation, there are literally hundreds of helpful questions you could ask.
What is God’s plan and calling for the village or city?
What is the main stronghold that blocks and resists this calling?
- a) What is God’s strategy to release the city into its calling? How can the city be set free from bondage?
b) What is YOUR part in this strategy? What should YOU do and pray in this time?
So again the whole purpose of Spiritual Mapping is
1) to find out God’s calling for a village or city,
2) to identify its major enemies and
3) to receive God’s specific strategy to deal with the enemies in order to release the city into God’s plan and calling.
This is a amazing power tool in brining the strongholds near your church and adding more souls to your church. Pray fully plan and implement for your church to grow.

Yes Brother… It is great… we serve a wonderful and mighty God. God Bless You.
Dear Pastor,
Praise the Lord,I have read about the statement of belief of UPCChennai,in one of the statement it was mentioned baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus. So it compel me to ask a question whether you baptise people only in the name of Jesus and not according to Matthew 28:19.Please don’t mind for asking this question.Because I want to know whether it is all right to baptise people only in the name of Jesus.
Dear Bro in Christ according to the Bible we need two or three witnesses for anything doctrinal fact. We can find many places where the Apostles have baptized many in the Name of Jesus according to Acts 2:38. We cannot read anywhere that they baptized in the name of Father, Son and the Holy Ghost. Moreover Jesus clearly mentioned go he and baptize IN THE NAME (SINGULAR) and Peter accepted it and followed the commandment of Jesus. Mathew who recorded Matthew 28:19 was also there at the upper room when Peter stood up and said these words and did according to the same. In fact all the disciples were with Peter but nobody corrected Peter. It is right to be baptized in Jesus Name.
God Bless You.
