ADOPTION \u2013 PROCEDURE \u2013 INTER COUNTRY<\/strong>
\nThe authorities\/agencies involved in Inter-country adoption will be<\/p>\n

\u2022 Competent Court
\n\u2022 Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA)
\n\u2022 Central Authority in the receiving Country (CA)
\n\u2022 Indian Diplomatic Missions Abroad
\n\u2022 Foreign Diplomatic Missions in India
\n\u2022 Authorised Foreign Adoption Agency (AFAA)
\n\u2022 State Adoption Resource Agency (SARA)
\n\u2022 Recognised Indian Placement Agency (RIPA)
\n\u2022 Adoption Recommendation Committee (ARC)
\n\u2022 Adoption Coordinating Agency (ACA)<\/p>\n

Stage I :<\/strong> Registration for NRI\/OCI\/PIO\/Foreign PAP(s)<\/p>\n

a) PAP(s) desiring to adopt child\/children from India may register with the Authorized Foreign Adoption Agency (AFAA) or Central Authority\/Government Department dealing with adoption matters in the receiving country.<\/p>\n

b) The PAP(s), with the help of AFAA\/CA should obtain the permission of the competent authority of their country for adopting a child from India.<\/p>\n
